As we embark on Vines and Branches, let us all renew our faith and commitment to Christ the King!
The Vines and Branches kick-off across the Newark Archdiocese is Sunday, October 10th. Here at CTK, we have four (4) teams working on short term and long- term goals. Please know that you are invited and welcome to take part in the work of any team.
1-Welcome Home, 2-Social and Re-vitalization, 3-Missionary & 4-Digital
We have developed five (5) themes that speak to our faith community and are launching them over a five-week period:
October 10th: Welcome Home
October 17th: Hospitality
October 24th: Holy Ground
October 31st: Saints
November 7th: Black Catholic History
We invite you to gather for fellowship after Mass each of these weeks to re-connect with one another and to welcome and get to know those who are new to our faith community. We will offer refreshments and different activities each week.
For our Welcome Home Day, on October 10th, we want you to know that there will be a return to Mass as we knew it, pre-pandemic. This means that we will go back to having greeters at the front door, ushers, two Lectors, Ministers of the Holy Eucharist (no cup, yet), collection and gifts brought to the altar. We will also go back to the sign of peace in any way you are comfortable greeting each other. For some, you may wish to remain in place, for others you may want to hug or fist/elbow bump. In whatever manner you choose to greet fellow parishioners, please be respectful of each other so that we are all comfortable.
